This song has been steadily climbing up into my list of all-time favorites, and my recent discovery of the acoustic version is doing nothing to slow that down.  With the risk of sounding like a complete and total fanboy, I still believe Jon Fratelli is one of the best songwriters of the current era.

Once imitated, never forgotten

Oh Shangri La, Jon Fratelli

Jon Fratelli, you magnificent bastard.  Why did it take this long for me to find out you did a solo album?

The important thing is that the amount of music on my computer made by one or more Fratellis has now increased by approximately 50%.

And since downloading it yesterday I’ve heard every song about 10 times each.  And every time the loop begins again and I go “ONE MORE TIME!”

This jukebox won’t play no Sinatra

It’s just curses all night long
